No actual prophecy or emphasis on it? Instead it's an old legend?

Four different lands in conflict, competition. A girl enters the foreign lands, with a destiny that can be swung in either direction.

Random:
- Little value judgements and statements that pick a person apart. This is evil.
- A fruit that contains a secret [elixir] key/object, as if it had grown around it (think of seeds in a bell pepper)

Questions to ask yourself:

How can you make this story different than other hero fantasy stories? Make the character go evil for a time?

Will people notice this difference? Maybe

Where does the story start? On the shore, at night. She is washed up from somewhere, looking up at the stars.

What are the symbols/motifs? Stars, fruit, key&gate, tree?, wands, cups/chalices, swords/knives, disks/pentacles, clocks

   Love interest + betrayal, they resolve but it's too late and heroine is tainted by __(?)

Scene:
“I must have been dreaming...” She looks at a scar/marking/something left behind from the Special World.

Scene:
She views an image from the Special World in a tide pool? Sunset? A different sunset than her own OR a different time reflected in the water. Someone behind her who is not there when she turns around. 'Scrying
tidepool', basically.

Scene:
Is it home or is it the special world? (Don't know yet) Clocktower and rain. Why this dramatic image? (Is there possibility of something Victorian?)

Scene:
She fights off an evil that's described like SLEEP APNEA/PARALYSIS
a wave of paralysis:

• dizziness, unable to feel breathing, increased heartrate
