The Purpose
- Explore story variations (travels among various groups of people)
- changing ways of the hero, what can influence a protagonist's decisions
- Fate v. chance (as stated before)
- The girl is contested over, she is "chosen one" of fate, for unknown reasons
- Erudite, occult magician
- Dangerous, threatening - but only does what you allow him to?
- Manipulative, conniving, convincing, sly, trickster
- Devious, only hints upon the sexually perverse to the hero
- Enchants the heroine?
- Grows stronger with death, feeds on death? Gains from others' death.
- Kidnaps her, leaves her [incapacitated] without physical harm? She is rescued, but is somehow enticed [battered persons syndrome?] to run back to him? Almost sexual, but never reaches that point.
- Shows her stars, points to large, visible/broken nebula or Milky Way. Explains her importance. "Without you, I would not be; we would not be" (or this belongs with her evil twin)
More Ideas of Transportation
nighttime is the most mysterious time of consciousness, so:
- runs into dark forest, comes out in morning in diff. place
- beach: sees scrying tidepool, large waves crashes over rocks, knocks her over into the ocean, she is washed upon distant shores
- driving, watching overpasses and shining hubcaps, listening to radio of current events: Imperialist war, poisoning of Russian president etc etc - intro of a girl who may seem dead on the outside? Go down to Santa Cruz --> beach?
- Being sucked into a black hole, Vortex. being pulled from one place to another. Vision, dream, out of body, or real.
Possible Conclusions
- It's all a dream
- She's really dead
- She is transported to another galaxy, dimension, universe, etc - pulled because of half and half wanting to become whole again? So how does it end?
- Does she go home or does she stay in the special world? Does she die?
